Duo Vermeer
Duo Vermeer was founded in 2022 by the guitarists Silvia Escamilla (Spain) and Natan Zlodre (Croatia), two musicians with extensive concert experience and winners of various international competitions. They decided to combine their interests and personalities during their Master's studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where they regularly work with Prof. Pavel Steidl and Prof. Zoran Dukic. Currently, they specialise in the Chamber Music for Classical Guitar Master’s Program at the Universitat für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Graz under the guidance of Prof. Petrit Çeku.
Their main objectives are to explore the sound qualities of the classical guitar duo, and to bring its original repertoire to all audiences and spaces, from its most traditional beginnings to current innovations.
They have performed in several concert cycles such as the Strings of Koprivnica: Guitar Weekend, Stivansko Lito, 14th MAGfestival International Chamber Music Festival in Hrvatski Dom, Sinj Guitar Days, Madrid a Tempo (Espacio Bertelsmann), Chamber Music Festival Solin Classic-Festival. Komorne Glazbe Solin Classic or, together with Petrit Çeku, at ARSONORE FESTIVAL Internationales Musikfest der Überraschungen. They have also made live recordings for the Croatian TV channel HRT.
Duo Vermeer performs works representative of different artistic influences and different historical periods, thus offering a panoramic view of the performance and development of composition from the Baroque to the present day.
